Check Out Emmaus!!

What is EMMAUS?

Emmaus is the campus ministry of New Philadelphia Church, an English-speaking church in Seoul, Korea. We reach out to college students at Yonsei University and meet every Tuesday night at 7pm to explore and deepen our spiritual walks.

Come out and join us on an awesome journey!

How did Emmaus begin?

Emmaus is greatly indebted to a campus ministry called “YICF” that existed before 2009. Since 1989, many students have been touched by YICF (Yonsei International Christian Fellowship). In 2008, Christian Lee of KCCC (Korea Campus Crusade for Christ) took over the leadership of YICF. In that same year, God also opened up a door for Christian to become the lead pastor of a small 80 member church called JSEM (now New Philadelphia Church). Under his leadership at YICF, God powerfully awakened the spiritual lives of many many students as Pastor Christian was unafraid to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.

By 2009, Yonsei administrators inquired if JSEM would like to sponsor YICF under a new name. After much prayer, it was clear that God was opening up a door and decisions were made to fully sponsor YICF with a new name: “Emmaus Campus Ministry”.
